Douglas V. Kaufman
Born on April 19, 1940 in Woodstock, Ontario.
Doug's father, V. J. Kaufman (1911 - 1984), operated a small livestock farm in Oxford County.
1935: V.J. Kaufman started a livestock trucking business.
1938: V.J. Kaufman acquired the Plattsville feed and grist business and named it the Woodstock Feed Co.
1939: Purchased property in Woodstock to expand feed business.
1958: Operated the first modern feedlot in western Ontario. Built first silo in Ontario and pioneered
the use of the "Lazy Susan Feeder".
1968: Sold Woodstock Feed Co. to Masterfeeds.
1970: Kaufman Farms Limited was incorporated.
1980: Started new business venture: Farmland Fertilizers Ltd.
1982: Formed a joint venture with CIL: Oxford AgroPro Ltd. Became a franchised Masterfeeds dealer.
